Here’s a thought on your 7/12 quandary about following god’s plan vs. taking charge of your destiny. What if being “created in his image” means he made us to be creators? What if the “let go, let god” part is that we get to choose our path, but surrender how we think it’s supposed to go?
My personal experience is that creating/manifesting is what gives life the flavor! When I let go of the “why”, and follow the path that presents itself, fantastic things just fall into place. I don’t always know why. But the key is in aligning your will with his, and THEN following your impulses. The question shouldn’t be, my will, or his? The question should be, is my will aligned with his? If that’s a yes, then you’re safe to follow your impulses. If it’s a no, you’re in danger. It’s not a question of which choice you make, it’s a matter of who is inspiring that choice.
I believe it’s the work of a lifetime to train your mind to always seek that alignment. It’s why you shouldn’t judge the actions of others. You don’t know their level of alignment at any given moment. Your job is to work on that alignment in your own heart.
I, personally, don’t think god cares what you do. The things that matter are intention and alignment with his spirit.
